Volunteer with National STOL
National STOL events are almost entirely run by a team of passionate volunteers! Get up close and personal with amazing pilots and aircraft while receiving free admission to the event. For more information, check out this video or read a description of many of our volunteer positions.
Volunteer registration for each event opens approximately two months prior to the date of competition. Specific details such as schedule, volunteer perks, etc. may vary by event. Information will be listed on each event page. To volunteer, fill out the registration form, including preferred position(s) and experience around aircraft. Approximately one week prior to the competition, you’ll receive your assignment via email. Please note that volunteers will be asked to sign a liability waiver, as well as attend a safety briefing each day they participate.
As a general rule, volunteers should be age 16+. Younger volunteers may be allowed in certain situations, such as directly with a parent or as part of an organized group like CAP or Boy/Girl Scouts. NO volunteers under 18 are allowed near the flight line.
Media
For media access, email info@nationalstol.com with your contact details and the event you wish to attend. A limited number of photographers/videographers will receive access past the crowd line at each event. Any photographer desiring access beyond the crowd line will be required to sign a liability waiver, media release, and attend a safety briefing EACH day of attendance. Photos and videos from beyond the crowd line may not be used or sold for commercial use without the written consent of National STOL.
