Rock ‘n STOL is a FREE community concert and fundraiser at Music City Executive Airport on Friday, October 10. The National STOL Music City STOL competition is a separate and ticketed event that is on site the same weekend. The concert takes place AFTER the Music City STOL practice, which runs Friday from 11:00am-3:00pm, and will be raising money to support youth aviation scholarships in Sumner County.
Admission to the concert is FREE, but capped at 3,000 individuals-Arrive early! Gates open to the public at 5:30pm with the concert starting at 7:00pm. You will pass through security to enter the concert. No outside food, drinks, or pets. Only clear bags will be permitted.
If you are also attending Music City STOL: Friday’s practice session does require a weekend ticket (one ticket provides entry for Friday and Saturday). If you are attending both Music City STOL practice and staying for the concert on Friday evening, you will have the opportunity to pass through security for the concert PRIOR to the gates opening to the public at 5:30pm.
Frequently Asked Questions:
If I am only attending the concert, do I need to purchase a Music City STOL ticket? NO, the concert is a separate and FREE event, but you will need to arrive early, as space is limited. Once 3,000 wristbands have been distributed, there will be no further admissions.
Can I fly into Music City STOL/the concert? Yes, the airport will remain open for MOST of the weekend. On Friday, October 10, the airport will close to all non-scheduled traffic at 6:00pm and remain closed until the concert concludes. Plan to be on the ground prior to 6:00pm if you are attending the concert. Also visit nationalstol.com/musiccity and note the official practice and competition times. If arriving during one of these windows, our air bosses may ask for you to hold for a break between heats. No matter what the time, be aware that there will be a high level of traffic at XNX throughout the weekend. Be sure to monitor UNICOM and stay aware!
Are pets allowed? While we love animals, this is an operational airport and NOT a safe venue for pets. Only service animals will be permitted.
Can I stay in the airport in between the Music City STOL practice and the concert? Yes and no…you can hang out at the end of practice, but we will ask everyone to EXIT the airport and then pass back through security. You will have the opportunity to do this before gates open to the public. Note that you may also need to return certain items to your vehicle, such as non-clear bags.
Are the clear bag and no food/drink restrictions valid for Music City STOL, or only the concert? The additional restrictions are in place for the concert only. You may bring outside food/drink to Music City STOL, though alcohol is never allowed. Keep in mind there will be many incredible food vendors, so either way, we encourage you to support them!
