As the steward of our wildlife control business, my days are dedicated to managing the delicate balance between nature and human spaces. My free time is spent flying the beautiful backcountry of Alaska.
My love affair with aircraft began at an early age, soaring alongside my father since I was just five years old. With a lifetime of aviation experience under my belt, I've proudly owned and flown 27 different aircraft and explored the skies in over 82 unique planes. Yet, throughout this journey, my heart has always gravitated toward the timeless simplicity of the Piper Cub series – from the iconic J-3s to the versatile Pa-11s, 12s and 18s.
Amongst my “pack” of aircrafts is a certified Pa-18-160 Super Cub stationed in Wasilla, Alaska that heads up our wildlife business. This Super Cub is more than a plane; it's a vital partner in our wildlife management endeavors. Navigating to remote job sites where human intervention is essential, this aircraft allows me to respond to unique wildlife challenges.
This year marked a significant milestone as I fulfilled a lifelong dream. After years of observing the Valdez, Alaska STOL competitions from the sidelines, I finally had the chance to participate. My winning experience at Valdez in the Pa-18-160 Super Cub led me to participate in the 2023 National STOL season in the “Lower 48.” |

I've only had my license for about a year and a half. I grew up playing football and got a scholarship to play at Kansas State. After that I played for 3 years in Germany. Once my football career was over, I started competing in Cross-Fit where I qualified for Regionals. Although, 22 years of competitive sports took it's toll on my body and I decided to quit competitive athletics. I needed a new hobby and decided to start hunting, where I then learned that you could fly planes into the back country to hunt. This spurred my interest in backcountry flying, which led to me getting my pilots license in May of 2022, ultimately leading me to STOL. My first STOL competition was May of 2023. I have also started a YouTube channel @fly2field2fork documenting my flying and hunting adventures.
My aircraft is a Maule M5 235C with a normalizing turbo, extended gear, cowl flap and 31in ABW. I currently have 250 hours total and 200 hours in the plane. |

Collin is a Dad, an entrepreneur, Navy Veteran, and a passionate aviator that got first got introduced to aviation through his father, who flew a Cessna 182D. After his father sold the airplane in the 70’s, he and his dad always dreamt of the day they would replace the airplane, or even better yet, find and buy back the 182 that caused the buyer’s remorse. Fast forward 35 years and now Collin travels the country in, finds interesting stories and people in aviation, then broadcasts those stories for the world to hear on the show called OldGreenPlane that's streamed on CarbonTV.
Collin succumbed to the prodding of his aviation friends and in 2019 became a tailwheel pilot and the owner of a Carbon Cub (that’s called “Doc”) and has since been customizing it to make it his own and competing in events all over the country.
His love for all things aviation spans all types of flying, but backcountry flying and STOLDrag racing has become his favorite outlet. He’s a consistent top-tier competitor that is always working and practicing to improve himself as a racer, but has also been known to set the tone for the comradery and “after racing events” in the racing pits and campground.
You can’t miss his black over digital-camouflaged airplane that is sponsored by LNK (Lincoln Airport Authority), Scooters Coffee, Wayne America Fly-in and STOL, Webb Eyecare, and OldGreenPlane.

Airtech Coatings | Malvern AR | KQ_STOL | Got my pilots license in 2007. Went a while without flying. Bought a Cessna in 2018 and started enjoying flying again. In 2022 I got a 100 cub and started loving flying.
Plane is a 2007 Cub Crafters Sport Cub powered by an o200. So far it and I have about 300 hours together since May 2022. It’s allowed me to land on mountains, fields, near lakes, and on river banks. It’s been a blast. |

Spent 6 years snooping and pooping in the woods with a pack on my back in Reconnaisance and Force Recon companies. I also got my Green Beret from a little stint at the Army Special forces school. I went on to join the Army as a Helo pilot; then on to the King Air and Citation. Retired from all that and spent the last 15 years overseas as a contractor flying King Airs and DHC-7 doing ISR for "the customer". Now I have a part time job flying King Air 350 for a Rancher who owns ranches in Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. I'm also a CFI and an avaholic. Most of my free time is spent flying, and intrstructing in Tailwheel aircraft where ever I can find a place to land without pavement. Yee Haww! |

I've given 2000 hours of dual given (flying lessons), flown aerobatics and upset recovery as well as formation flying. I feel like I've found my home in the stol / off airport (back country) flying crowd. Like everyone says, I came for the airplanes and flying and stayed for the people!
Married and father of 2 teenage boys. I'm very busy attending their soccer and tennis games and horse shows when I'm not flying.

He’s not just about flying solo – Glenn’s found a second home in the STOL community after volunteering with National STOL in Wayne, 2023. Now, competing with the support of Team Nebraska STOL, Glenn is ready to bring his skills to the competition and inspire others to follow their aviation dreams! |

My grandfather flew Taylorcraft airplanes, and both my mom and dad are private pilots. While my girls enjoy flying with me, they haven't chosen to become pilots yet, but my nephew will make it generation #4 of pilots when he completes his check ride which is scheduled for the same days as Lonestar STOL! Since (as I now know) kids are really expensive additions to life, I actually rarely flew with my parents growing up, they pretty much set aviation aside until we were all grown and gone. But they DID plant the seeds of passion in me that stayed dormant, just under the surface, until the time was right in my life and marriage and my own children's situation to allow me to fly.
I did almost all of my primary instruction in tailwheel aircraft. I started in a (poorly converted) 1953 PA-22/20 Pacer, which handled like a snake on methamphetamines on the ground. I quickly learned how to dance on those pedals! While it taught me a lot, I also was grateful to replace it, and actually ended up with a really nice RV-6 that I finished my instruction in. Since I couldn't find a DPE willing to give me a check ride without passenger side toe-brakes, I finally had to get some time in a 172, and got my check ride done in a flight school 172.
The RV-6 went away when I had the pleasure and honor of purchasing N815M. Admittedly, I changed the tail number, I've got a weird thing about single syllable tail numbers and talking on the radio. Ha! The aircraft is a RANS S7S, lovingly built and cared for by a man who I'm proud to call a friend now, Dale Atchetee. Dale built an INCREDIBLE aircraft, and when I first showed up to look at it, I think he sized me up like I was asking to date his only daughter! There was a lengthy interview process where he learned a lot about me, and me about him, and the many, many things we had in common, including my work in law enforcement--a career he had retired from. Eventually, Dale let me fly the airplane, and I was sold from the first taxi to the runway!
Since I purchased it, I've made some pretty significant changes, including installing the John Roberts Bush gear, TK-1 shocks, and 26" Airstreaks, Edge performance big bore kit, swapped the prop for a whirlwind ground adjustable, and removed a lot of weight from the airplane, including a BRS that was originally installed. I built my own flap handle bracket to move the flap handle from the floor to right beside my left leg. This is INFINITELY more useful for STOL ops, and keeps my eyes looking where I'm going. It's very natural and intuitive now.
I am really excited to join a group of aviators that I have watched from the outside for entirely too long. I look forward to meeting everyone at Lonestar STOL.
I'm a HUGE fan of RANS aircraft, and because of that I also own a RANS S-21, and recently I helped my dad acquire a really nice RANS S-6 with Hal's bigbore kit. The owner community and support from Randy and Shelly and Tony and the whole gang at the factory is second to none!
